Selkirk Rex
This
is a very new breed to the UK having just gained GCCF
recognition. These cats are real show stoppers and are fast
moving through the GCCF promotion process to championship
level.
In brief the Selkirk has a very similar
appearance to that of the wonderful British Shorthair. They are renowned for
their super curly sheep like coats that are a delight
to look at and has the most wonderful feel about it.
They share the same thick,
heavy set sturdy appearance as their British Shorthair
cousins with the added addition of a wonderful 'kissable'
muzzle. Selkirk's can be either
long or short haired and can have a curly or straight coat (variants).
To widen the gene pool Selkirk's are currently out-crossed
to the British Shorthair, Persian and Exotic.
The most endearing feature of these cats is their
temperament. They are the loveable clowns of the cat
world. They are not only stunning in appearance but offer
endless hours of amusement, they are definitely the do it
all go everywhere cat. Being very affectionate, nosey and
playful they make lovely pets happy to be inside and waiting
for your return to find out all the gossip. Both the curly
and straight hair kittens have this endearing temperament.

British Shorthair
My
first love the stunning,
little bear cat. These cats speak for themselves having a
solid chunky appearance, with beautiful large copper eyes and
that lovely plush, dense
short coat. British Shorthairs have gentle
pleasing natures. Quiet, affectionate and intelligent they
really are
beautiful companions.
British are well suited to indoor family
life, ours live alongside our family and leather suite in mutual respect.
